I opened this "book" to the first page and knew there was going to be a problem. The font was much larger than normal. This takes more space than usual (more pages) and makes the so called book look larger than it really is. The last numbered page is 138. I was tempted to send this back but decided to read through it to see if there was anything of value in it. I'm used to this. I taught English overseas for a number of years. I realized rather quickly that I could have gotten as much from the internet for free in about six hours. The only subject that Mr. Brown spent any real amount of time on was possible contamination. However, on page 73 he listed six contaminates including hydrogen cyanide. Gimme a break. That's the gas they use to execute criminals with in the now unused but famous gas chamber in California. A quick look in the front reveals that this "book" is self published. I will give the author credit for that. He didn't include any of the usual (standard) information consisting of print date, place of printing, etc. The last page of the "book" turned out to be page 98. The rest of the pages turned out to be previews (actually, teasers) for other so called books he has printed. There were a total of 3 pictures and 2 plans in this "book". The first picture was of poor quality, showed no detail and appeared to have been copied from another book I have. The other two pictures also show no detail and are counter productive toward the title of this "book." They are pictures of well known commercial buildings. The 2 plans reminded me of the sketches I made when I was age 13. They were out of scale and showed no imagination. I taught basic college to post doctorate students and would have returned this with no grade. I can't speak for McGraw-Hill but I suspect rather strongly that their editors would have a good laugh at this.

If I had seen this book in a store, priced at $13.72 I wouid have thought it was mispriced. If I had glanced through it I wouid have realized it had very little information or plans or ideas worth reading. I picked it, from the many similar books, because it had a relatively high rating.
