About Import Fees Deposit

Amazon Global Store offers its customers import duties, taxes, and fees ("Import Fees") estimation during checkout and customs clearance on their behalf for shipments to KSA.

When you order products from Amazon Global Store, an estimate of the Import Fees will be calculated on your order and collected from you ("Import Fees Deposit"). With your authorization, these funds are used by the courier or another agent to pay the Import Fees on your behalf (or the recipient's behalf) to the appropriate authorities in KSA. The payment of Import Fees is the responsibility of the importer and is levied based on the laws of the country into which the products are being shipped.

The Import Fees Deposit will vary depending on the selected shipping method, and is only an estimation of the taxes, fees, and duties that may apply and isn't an actual calculation. Customs regulations and applicable rates may change between the date the Import Fees were estimated and the date of import into the destination country. Import VAT is generally levied on all orders shipped from outside KSA. The rate of VAT that applies to most supplies of goods in KSA is 15%. In addition to import VAT, orders equal to or over 1000 SAR will have duty applied, and the duty is based on the classification of good and CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) value, and varies by country and region. Import Fees are calculated based on the market value (actual price before any promotions) of the product and not the price after Amazon Global Store promotions. Import Fees based on the pre-promotion price are then remitted to the destination country customs authorities.

You won't be charged additional amounts if the actual Import Fees paid to authorities in the destination exceed the Import Fees Deposit we estimated. If the actual Import Fees paid to the authorities are lower than the Import Fees Deposit collected from you, you'll automatically be refunded the difference to your original form of payment, or to Gift Card Balance for payments via COD. The refunds will be processed as and when we receive courier invoices confirming the actual Import Fees.
