Replaced my minimiser (+ for the 1st time since childhood my boobs don't bounce!)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 January 2019Size: 40CColor: Pink (06G)Verified Purchase
I've been the unhappy owner of giant boobs since puberty and have never been in a position to afford (or even want) breast reduction surgery. I have spent the past year shopping for minimiser bras and only 1 out of about 10 were actually worth the money. After purchasing a chest binder in desperation (terrible idea, don't waste your time) I decided to try a sports bra, come hell or high uniboob!
This was the second sports bra I'd tried (after a very cheap one) and I'm pretty sure now my bra search is over. I deliberately purchased a cup size down from my other bras to increase the chances of compressing my cleavage, but maintained the band size. The result was a snug fit that minimised projection as good (if not better) than my fave minimiser bra. I waited all day for the discomfort that would surely come but it never did. No movement means no chafing but the real key to this bra's success is the the racerback design that re-allocates strain from the shoulders to the trunk of your neck (to accommodate arm flexibility in sports). This removes all the usual shoulder discomfort you get with any other type of bra.
In addition, the blissful sensation of having a stationary chest is something I was not expecting or even thinking about. My sole concern was reducing my bust but within minutes of putting it on I was jogging up and down the stairs in a state of wonderment at my almost-motionless bosom! Apart from this feeling good it has me considering exercise for the first time in years, because now it feels possible.
I guess there are a couple of minor 'cons' with all of these styles of sports bra: there are two fastenings instead of one (my own preference is to fasten the back, step into the bra, and then fasten the neck). And then of course there's the reason many women are dissuaded from even trying any sports bra: the supposed 'uniboob' effect. This is only an issue if you plan on wearing figure-hugging clothes or plunging necklines. And if you're shopping for something to take attention away from your chest it's highly unlikely this is what your wardrobe consists of. As I said earlier, I actually ordered a chest *binder* a while ago, so a slight uniboob hidden under my clothes is much better than where I was willing to go.
Try this bra instead of yet another minimiser. I am 40D in standard bras and I ordered this in 40C and it was perfect. This was my personal choice and I never actually tried it in my usual size which may have worked out great too, I leave that choice to you!

how do you get this on without assistance?!

If you can do your bra up with your hands behind your back and you are petite, then this product is fine for you - it has a catch between shoulders straps for added stability......which makes in fiendish to put it on solo, and impossible if you normally do the bra up at the front then twist the catch round to your back. l would not recommend this product if you have a larger cup size as even when you have wrestled it on, it creates a particularly pronounced mono boob.

Tiny but excellent if you go up a band size, down a cup size.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 January 2019Size: 34DColor: Purple (08T)Verified Purchase
This is fantastic. I bought my last shock absorber bra 20 years ago in the days of the Anna kournicova ads and it lasted all that time. Admittedly, some of those years it stayed in the draw. But it lasted really well. This bra is great. I bought my usual size initially and returned it for one size up on band, one size down on cup, I.e. the cup size is accurate but the band is tiny. 70% say fits as expected? I think it depends on whether you are wearing a bra size you fitted yourself and like a loose band in which case buy that size - it will be tight tho - or whether you have gone to John Lewis and they have given you the right size already - in which case definitely buy a bigger band size. Really comfortable to run in and I can just about breathe in the bigger size. Another thing to mention is that I am really tall and it fits. You need to adjust the length of the bra on the back of it. And there is no bouncing anywhere 🤣

32C not True to sizing...waaay too small.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2020Size: 85CColor: Black (BSV)Verified Purchase
I don't usually write reviews, but regarding this product in terms of sizing, the item sizing seems totally off the mark! Ordered 32C and I would say sizing was more like a 28B! Way way too small! The band does not even fit across the chest, impossible for clasp to meet. The cup size is way too small and narrow. My boobs were literally squished in all over the place and spilling out at the sides and top. Not enough fabric to protect and cup the whole breadth of the breast. Not comfortable or fit for purpose. I have always used 'shock absorbers' for running and they have always been be brilliant. Support in the right places, good contact, comfortable no bounce and pain free especially near monthly cycle where Betty Boo feels a little on the sore and tender side. Description advises order your regular normal size which I did and it's fair to say 'shock absorber' sizing is way off the mark. Very disappointed. I usually buy bras from M&S, JL and my usual 32c no matter where I buy have always fit. I hope the images supplied will help with your decision about purchasing this product. I did read reviews before purchasing and positive seemed to out weigh the negatives. Maybe, I got a faulty garment that slipped through quality control? It was promptly returned!

Don't underestimate how very difficult this is to put on
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2020Size: 38GColor: White (WSV)Verified Purchase
I've seen many reviews noting that this bra is difficult to put on. And also a few reviews scoffing at people who haven't mastered the art of putting it on. And it IS an art. I've managed it once, but the rest of the time my husband has to do it.
I bought this after receiving a selection of similar bras on the very useful 'Amazon Wardrobe' scheme and choosing this one for comfort. I do wish it had a slightly lower 'neckline' at the front as it tends to show with most things. However it's more attractive than many sports bras. It shows through under anything white, especially the contraption of straps at the back.
I'd recommend it for comfort but if you have any sort of limited mobility or don't have someone handy to assist don't underestimate how tricky it is. Maybe my rather generous bosoms make my mobility more limited, they do tend to get in the way of things (which is why I'm buying a bra that costs this much).
