I always use a bluetooth headset while on calls and this is first time I tried an expensive top of the line headset like this one. It may be worth the price for those who prefer hands free calls and may need to spend more than 1-2 hour on phone at a time.
Pros and Cons:
Excellent sound quality. If you listen to music (though it's purpose is not that) even the instruments in background are clearly heard. There are many other bells and whistles which make it a sophisticated and fine product.
Con 1: The in the ear gel bud doesn't inspire confidence that it won't fall down, though it fits better than the loosely held feeling in the ear. It may take time to get used to letting go and trust it will stay in the ear without on the ear hook.
Con 2: If you attach the provided on the ear hook then it won't be able to fit in charging case. So that is option for those who prefer the safety of having it fit on the ear more than convenience of charging case.
I could not find any recent release of Jawbone, so turned towards Plantronics and I debated buying the 5200 vs the Edge. Went through many reviews (for many weeks) and finally purchased the Edge. I am very happy with it's performance so far.
In the initial use folks did complain about some wind & background noise, but after the firmware upgrades that the Plantronics App recommends, its been working like a charm. Driving in a car with windows open or talking in a crowded street and no complaints from the other side.
The ear buds did not really work well for me in terms of fit. I had to use the clip to secure it. But that depends on the ear structure. It might work perfectly well for others. I swapped the Plantronics ear bud for a Jawbone New Fit spare ear buds that I had and now without a clip the Voyager edge works for me even during a fast paced walk.
Great product .. sleek, light, has great connectivity and range. Even if I leave the phone at my desk and walk around there are no interruptions in connectivity. The case with extra battery is great. It secures the headset and charges it + looks cool !!!
The sensors work well, you put the headset in your ear and it answers the call. Remove it and the call is transferred.
Have not tried it with my laptop, but assuming it would work well there as well as it can support multiple devices.
It works for calls, music, videos, YouTube etc. works on multiple devices simultaneously. headset with charging dock is handy. You can charge 2-3 times directly using the dock. It works automatically when used in ears and removed.
Once you fully charge the headset, you can use as below
If you use only for calls it will come for 2,3 days assuming you will use for 2 hours for calls daily
If you use for calls, music or videos it will come for 5-6 hrs continuous usage
Recently I am noticing the dock is not working properly which is bad. I am using direct usb cable for charging
Design is eligent and slik came with nice. Charging case. It is quiet well fit in ear. One may feel like it is not fit properly but fit quite well don't come out easily. The devices which tight fit will annoying. I feel impression of edge which looks like loose fir but actually good. Voice quality on both side is good.
