You have to remove all screws in the bottom case first, and then carefully remove the keyboard. Next remove screws and open the cover case for the motherboard. The hard drive and RAMs are located in the back of the motherboard. You will then remove the hard drive connector first, and then remove the screws for 2.5 inch SATA SSD expansion if you think 128 GB original PCLE SSD is too small. After that's done, RAM upgrade is easy too but earlier preparation work takes about 30 minutes to complete safely.
The laptop's screen is only 720p HD instead of standard 1080p but for $300, it's worth the price. After SSD expansion and RAM upgrade to at least 8 GB, this laptop works as fast as those $500-$600 laptops with older generation i5 or i7 processors.
Being a budget laptop, you are not going to get the bells and whistles. There are literally no lights on the outside of the computer. No blinking LED's, no backlit keyboard, nothing. Secondly, the screen is outdated. It is low-resolution, so it makes the computer itself look outdated. The colors are washed out as well. To me, that is the biggest drawback. I have a powerful laptop with an outdated screen. I was considering returning to purchase a laptop that is higher priced, with a slightly less powerful CPU and a better screen. It makes a huge difference. I ultimately decided against it though. At $320, I think I will manage.
All in all, a great value for the money, but you are definitely giving up some aesthetic luxuries.
Cons: TN display is low resolution with mediocre viewing angles. Keyboard is not backlit. No USB-C.
For the money this is not a bad laptop. Its processor is faster than most options in this price range.
-such as iris graphics (better than regular default)
-10th gen cpu.
-Along with that is the good battery duration, I'm a college student, running the laptop with documenting all day, and i get a smooth 6-8 hours without charger.
-Also the track-pad feels really good to use, its a rigid feel.
ALTHOUGH. With this budget-friendly price, you get what you pay for and suffer some things, for this instance:
-weak laptop build quality, plastic everywhere, it FLEXES behind the screen and on keyboard.
-the screen has really bad quality (but i always hook it up to external monitor), and it BENDS/FLEXES.
-the memory 4GB RAM cannot handle the workload i give it such as programming softwares and multiple Chrome tabs open, it slows down...
I will be upgrading myself to invest a bit more in a laptop that will have better build quality to last me long term!
