Good extension cord.

I bought a Varidesk and when I wanted to lift desk up, the power cord for my monitor was too short. This simple cheap fix added the length I needed to lift without issues. Same plug size for computers, PS4, etc. Seems well constructed and dont expect issues.

What I wanted

My furnace blower fan motor has 3 wires for two speeds, so I got this to cut in half and put the connector between the power supply and the motor. 18 AWG is enough, but if not I'll find out. The motor is 220VAC at 1/3 HP. I have to take the motor out once a year to lubricate it, and also to swap out motors when they go bad. The last furnace tech set me up with a 1/4 HP motor but it burned out. The furnace was designed for 1/3 HP, and I have a backup motor when this one goes bad.

I bought this for a tv I have mounted in my gazebo. The tv is hung by cables by the rafters and the original power cable runs to the outlet. I wanted to hide the tvs power cable so I bought this to elongate the cable to make it more easily hide-able up along the rafter beams. Works fine. For a dollar more on here though I bought a full 15 foot cable and replaced this short one. You are way better off using a full non-extended cable. It's a 5 star though because it works.

Years ago, HP would send these with a server. I never knew why people would want this type of plug or PDU format. What can I say? I was young and dumb. I probably threw away 50 of these things. Later on I learned that servers draw less power at higher voltage, and my eyes were opened widely- an epiphany to be sure. Save on the power bill, save the environment (fewer step downs = less power loss = better PUE*). With the shame of remembering how many I threw away, I now have to buy these separately because HP and Dell need to shave a penny somewhere in costs. Bah! Back in my day they came with this cord, and iced cream was a nickel, and I walked twenty miles to school, uphill- both ways!
