The 10th anniversary of the GT-1000 running shoe takes a big step forward in what this model stands for. The previous edition set the stage in providing intrinsic value with the midsole, allowing this update to focus on the upper. The upper has been reimagined to provide a richness never before seen in a GT-1000 shoe. With the addition of an engineered mesh construction and an integrated support system, the GT-1000 10 model is in a class of its own. In addition to these new features, runners will also experience GEL technology cushioning and a lightweight FLYTEFOAM midsole to improve the cushioning in your step as you fly through the miles.

Great arch support and grippy soles make this shoe perfect for running outdoors.
They can hold off a bit of rain too, and don't show too much mud.
The shoe comes up a little bit tighter than I'd usually opt for. I'm a size UK 7, and these are just that little bit snug, so would recommend considering going up a size (or a half size if possible).
The shoes come in a really smart Asics box. You just can't beat Asics for quality and these don't disappoint.

I have ALWAYS bought Asics GT Series size 6 running shoes, as long as I can remember. These felt too big, so tried 5.5's - they were too tight, so went back to 6's. Previously I have always felt supported and comfortable, and the usual niggles as I age have never prevented my exercising - generally doing 6-10 miles 4-5 times a week.
On this model the 6s are bigger heel to toe along the sole, and considerably wider than previous shoes. The sole also picks up way more earth cross-country. The uppers are much less supportive over the foot and are looser around the heel than on previous models, and the whole feel is looser and less satisfactory.

I have taken it easy in running in, but now have sore spots on my feet and painful achilles on both legs. Sadly these are going out/to a different home and I will be hoping for a return to form when I choose the next pair!

I’m a size 6.5 and have ordered various trainers in my size that fit perfectly, ranging from cheap high street brands to Nike. Unfortunately, these trainers are too small and my toes hit the front. Such a shame they are not true to size considering how much they cost.
