I bought this product on 26th October and return policy got expired on the 1st week of November. I hardly used this product 3 times. After that, it stopped working at all. You can see the video I shared. It won't calibrate at all. I am struggling with service centers right now there are hardly 3 service centers in India and they won't respond to your calls and msgs properly. I am a vlogger and I bought this product so that i can shoot my travel videos but now i am suffering.. If at all I ship this product to the service center they will take 45 days to get it repaired and they are also asking a complaint case number which I don't have I am dropping DJI support continues mails for this.

Après de nombreuses recherches et questions sur les stabilisateurs mécaniques, je voulais conserver mon iphone 8 Plus comme caméra mais la stabilisation optique ne me suffit pas. Elle est loin d'être inexistante, mais n'est pas suffisament performante pour faire de belles vidéos … Voici donc le Dji OSMO MOBILE 3 ! Plus léger, plus performant, pliable, moins cher … Ce Osmo Mobile 3 est une réussite et je vous explique pourquoi !

📦Emballage / Contenu : Pour des raisons de rapidité de livraison, j'ai décidé de partir sur le modèle classique. Exit donc les hard cases et les trépieds. Pas trop grave en soit, je suis déjà équipé. Vous trouverez donc dans l'emballage cartonné de très bonne facture le stabilisateur avec batterie intégrée , son câble USB-C (un très bon point par rapport au 2 et son mini B) un sac de rangement, une dragonne, des plaquettes anti-dérapantes et une notice. Rien de plus, rien de moins !

🛠Qualité / finition : La qualité des plastiques ne fait pas de doutes. La prise en main et la partie anti-dérapante ergonomique fait admirablement bien son travail. Il vaut mieux si on fait des prises de vue assez longues d'être confortable. J'ai eu personnellement un peu peur à la première manipulation, de tout casser ou d'aller trop loin, mais on sent très rapidement les limites du produit. Le verrouillage se fait très bien sentir et permet de ne pas aller trop loin. Ne forcer tout de même pas trop, il va sans dire que cela reste un produit au moins sensible voir un peu fragile, surtout en position ouverte. La mise en place du smartphone se fait très simplement, il suffit de glisser celui-ci dans les mords prévus à cet effet. Avec sa batterie de 15h, on est assez bien pourvus ! Concernant celle-ci d'ailleurs, il est possible de connecter la batterie comme batterie d'appoint pour le smartphone. Encore un bon point si on est pas à côté d'une prise !

⚙️Première utilisation : Doté d'un des téléphones les plus lourds de chez Apple (seul le XS Max est plus lourd de quelques grammes), je vous confirme que la tenue ET la stabilisation sont au rendez-vous. La nacelle prends en charge les smartphones jusqu'à un poids de 230grammes. Attention donc à vos coques si elles s'avèrent un peu lourdes. A titre de comparaison, mon IPhone 8 Plus avec sa coque pèse près de 260grs. Pensez à la pesée avant l’utilisation. A la première utilisation, il faudra enregistrer le produit sur l'application DJI MIMO et appairer le Bluetooth. Créez un compte Dji si cela n'est pas déjà fait. Suivez simplement les instructions de l'application, et … C'est tout !! La compatibilité est assurée avec les plus grands smartphones, jusqu'à 88mm de largueur. Seul bémol, en position normale en mode paysage, le téléphone bute sur le bras si vous utilisez le joystick pour faire se baisser la prise de vue. A 100€ le stabilisateur, surtout à ce niveau de qualité, on lui pardonnera 😉

📱Application : Dji Mimo est l'application à utiliser avec le stabilisateur. L'application est plutôt bien faite, même si pour moi certains infos manquent à l'appel. Par exemple, pas moyen d'avoir l'espace disponible sur le smartphone pour les vidéos. De base, on ne saura pas combien de temps de rushs on aura droit. Idem, pas de live avec l'application. Pourtant on peut aisément imaginer un superbe live suivi en Activetrack ! Autrement, l'app est intuitive et bien réalisée. On sent clairement que Dji veut se donner tous les moyens à sa disposition pour devenir numéro 1 ! l'app mérite donc plusieurs choses pour en faire l'app parfaite : Plus de paramètres de personnalisation vidéo, la possibilité de faire du livestreaming au travers de l'app, des modifications plus profondes des modes story (on aura bien compris que les vidéos ont été montées avec Dji …). Je n'ai pas encore testé avec une autre application, mais il va sans dire que ce qui fait partie intégrante de ce stabilisateur en devient un élément bridant la créativité. On trouvera bien un moyen de faire mieux, mais bon !

📲Les « Modes » : Les différents plus comme le contrôle gestuel, le mode sport, panorama, timelapse et ralenti sont d'une utilisation d'un niveau de facilité déconcertante au vus des résultats obtenus. Le contrôle gestuel est tout simplement génial ! Un petit V avec les doigts ou la paume de sa main et on passe en mode Activetrack sur son visage. Je vous conseille de suivre l'excellent tuto présent dans l'app. Le mode timelapse me permet enfin de faire ce dont j'ai envie. Le timelapse en mouvement est une pure tuerie ! Hyperlapse, fonction déjà présente sur le Mobile 2, est toujours présente et aussi performante. Le seul conseil à donner est : plus vous allez doucement, plus votre hyperlapse sera beau.

Bref, je suis conquis par ce premier gimball à 100€ (environ) et il deviendra très rapidement votre meilleur ami pour vous qui aimez faire quelques vidéos … L'application mérite encore une petite refonte, mais dans l'ensemble, c'est une franche réussite. Je vous conseille donc cet excellent Gimbal pour un rapport qualité/prix difficile à approcher. Dji, vous avez fait là ce qu'on aime le plus dans le high-tech : un produit meilleur que son prédécesseur, meilleur marché, moins lourd et plus efficace. Le rapport qualité/prix/performance est bluffant ! Je vous invite à venir voir mon avis sur ce gimbal en vidéo sur ma chaîne YouTube.

Edit : Le bas du manche possède un pas de vis classique afin de le monter sur un trépied. Pas besoin d'adaptateur pour cette manipulation. Si vous avez un trépied, vous pouvez poser le Osmo Mobile 3 dessus 😉

The Osmo Mobile 3 is very easy to use and, if you're happy to work within its technical limitations, produces video of excellent quality when paired with a mobile phone. I am using it with the iPhone XR and am enjoying the experience. I cannot, however, use it for professional work. Here's why.

There are two issues which potential buyers need to be aware of. The first will only affect you if you live in Europe and are planning to edit together, on the same timeline, video clips made with the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 and clips from another camera. For reasons which videographers will understand but which I won't bore you with here, footage made in the UK often has to be shot at 25fps, especially when shooting indoors under artificial light. Unfortunately, the DJI Mimo app, which has to be used with the gimbal to take advantage of all the available effects, does not offer that frame rate. As far as I can tell from reading the forums, the company does not intend to offer that option either. They are focused on the American market, where a frame rate of 30fps is taken for granted. Offering a setting which would make their product more attractive in the UK or the EU doesn't seem to interest them.

The only way of using the gimbal as part of a project shot at 25fps is therefore to shun the DJI Mimo app and to use a third-party alternative. If you do so, you will finally have control over your frame rate and shutter speed, but you will lose many of the features (such as tracking) which only work when using DJI's own app. I have not yet found a way around this problem and I cannot therefore use the Osmo for bigger projects.

The second issue has to do with calibration. My gimbal has what is, apparently, a common issue with this model. Even after calibration on a flat surface, it does not hold the phone level. Instead, the left-hand edge of the picture is fractionally lower than the right. This can be adjusted by diving into the settings (only in the DJI Mimo app, not in the third-party alternatives as far as I can see); but I am finding that I have to do so more often than I would like. If, like me, you are a photographer or videographer who is very sensitive to the precise framing of an image, this is likely to irritate you. If you are not, and a slightly crooked image is something you will not notice, you need not lose any sleep over it.

All in all, an excellent piece of kit, but one whose failings make it unsuitable for serious work outside the USA and those other parts of the world where a setting of 30 fps is taken for granted.

Soy fotógrafo y siempre llevo una cámara encima. No me llama la atención el video, por eso, pese a que las cámaras hacen video en 4k no lo utilizo.
Hoy día se usan mucho los time lapses, que se pueden hacer con las cámaras, pero son estáticos y no son "compartibles" inmediatamente. Para hacer esos time lapses con movimiento compré el Osmo Mobile 3 y es una maravilla.
Los time lapses con desplazamiento son fantásticos. Te sientas a tomar un café y en 5 minutos tienes un recuerdo espectacular del sitio que estás visitando.
Los hiperlapses también son muy buenos. Puedes fijar un punto de interés o una persona y el programa se encarga de las tomas, montarlo y lo deja preparado para compartir.
Las fotos panoramicas de 3x3 hacen que no me preocupe de llevar un UGA o un ojo de pez.
No solo hace una toma enorme sino que además el software "limpia" las cosas en movimiento y deja coche y/o personas enteras, ni corta ni deja medios cuerpos.
También he comenzado a utilizar las Stories, para hacer vídeos divertidos de pocos segundos en pocos segundos. El acabado es muy bueno, con su música y lo puedes compartir en al momento.
Es un elemento muy cómodo de transportar y un complemento genial para componer y compartir imágenes en segundos, con un precio tan ajustado que lo recomiendo sinceramente.

I decided to go for the DJI OSMO Mobile 3 as it finally looks like a nice package due to the much-improved design and functionality compared to the earlier models in many aspects.

My first impression is good. The fit and finish seem good even with its all plastic construction.

What's good:
● Very compact and portable (esp. after folding)
● Good stabilization
● The handle is tilted at 15° angle, it seems a more ergonomic and more natural way to hold than the straight ones
● Easy to flip between portrait and landscape modes by the press of a button
● Good fit, finish, and material - although made of plastic - it feels sturdy and well built
● Once folded and locked it forms a nice tight-fitting package - the gimbal handle doesn't move around
● Nice features in DJI Mimo app (although the Android App is not as good and feature-rich as the iOS app)
● Relatively good value for money - esp compared to the earlier DJI Mobile Gimbals and if you get buy during some Amazon sale
● You can charge your phone while shooting (it deteriorates the non- replaceable battery - so I will try to avoid doing it)

What's not as good:
● 360 rotation on any axis is not possible
● It needs re-balancing every time after the phone is removed
● No replaceable battery - makes the gimbal's life depend on the life of the battery and also, less environment-friendly...
● Android App is not as good and feature-rich as the iOS app - many functionalities are missing in the android version
● The packaging is not very sturdy and got little battered due to handling during shipping

Overall observation:
The price is very good for a DJI product (esp. with Amazon sale discount). Nowadays you can get a mobile gimbal for around Rs. 4000 - 5000, but OSMO Mobile 3's build quality, design and useful set of functionality seem to make it a great choice even with it's relatively higher price compared to the alternatives.

These are my immediate observations as I just got it today - will update the review once I have more experience with the same.
